Nexus

The moment we allow ourselves to be open is the moment when fulfilment begins. A possibility emerges from the realm of all possibilities and takes shape — as an idea, as inspiration that stirs us intellectually and touches us emotionally. This form does not arise through effort. It unfolds of its own accord, just as all living things unfold. And it reveals itself where something within us resonates on every level: in the soul, in the mind, in the heart. Where these three are in harmony, this unfolding remains connected to its source — it becomes reality because it is whole.
The form of the Nexus emerges from the Origo. Where the origin once bore twelve vertices, twelve pentagons now open out: what was a point becomes a surface. What was a possibility takes shape. The twenty triangles of the origin remain intact — the supporting structure is not lost. Unfolding does not depart from the origin. It reveals what lay dormant within it.

DEEPER MEANING

At each edge of the Nexus, a triangle and a pentagon meet. The triangle is the first closed form in space — across cultures, the number three symbolises the emergence of form: beginning, middle and end. The pentagon embodies the Golden Ratio — the number five is the number of life: five petals, five senses, five fingers on a hand; in music, the fifth, the interval from which harmony arises. Within the body of the Nexus, the two sustain one another: That which supports provides stability for that which grows; that which grows opens up that which supports. Neither could, on its own, bring forth what arises from their encounter. So it is with us. What takes shape within us needs both — the structure that holds, and the living force that grows. A light source at the centre of the form transforms the geometry into a softly glowing body. The light penetrates the edges where the two forms meet — and the space around them begins to expand. Not in its dimensions. In its possibilities.

LIGHT EFFECTS

The luminaire, finished in Satin Shine, emits a velvety, enveloping light. It bathes the objects around it in soft gradients that lend their surfaces a distinctive softness.

AREAS OF APPLICATION

The Nexus is particularly well suited to darker areas of a room that need to be pleasantly brightened without being too overpowering. In entrance areas, foyers and lounges, too, the Origo conveys a sense of exclusivity; with its distinctive design, it has a stately appearance yet blends harmoniously into a wide variety of interior styles. The Nexus makes the room feel more inviting and welcoming, instantly creating a special sense of well-being. As a table lamp, it looks wonderful on larger surfaces as a stand-alone piece, but works just as well on smaller side tables, sideboards or chests of drawers. The Origo makes the room feel more inviting and friendly, instantly creating a special sense of well-being.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Satin Shine works exceptionally well with light sources in the 1200–2700 Kelvin range, as these, when combined with the Origo luminaire, create a beautifully soft, warm, golden ambient light.
